Medical Diagnostic Laboratories, L.L.C. (MDL) is a CLIA certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licensing that specializes in state of the art, automated DNA based molecular analysis of a variety of chronic and infectious illnesses with viral, microbial, or environmental etiology. MDL specializes and performs Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) with a larger menu of testing available in the field of infectious disease. Our Research and Development department at MDL is comprised of experts in the fields of Molecular Biology, Molecular Virology, Microbiology, Molecular Oncology and Gynecology. Our main theme of research is in the field of Infectious Arthritis, Tick-borne Diseases, Mycology, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).

The Pharmacogenomics Division is looking for a highly motivated scientist to set up and manage a high throughput screening core facility being planned for 2009. Candidate should have 2-4 years experience, able to work independently and manage multiple concurrent tasks while maintaining an appropriate attitude and composure.

Responsibilities:

• The individual will be required to manage and run the daily operations of the screening group
• The individual will have 2-4 years of expertise in using biochemical and cell based assays for drug discovery, have experience using label free detection technologies, and have demonstrated the ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously
• The individual will be involved in purchasing the equipment and compound libraries necessary to carry out diverse screens proposed by several divisions.
• Key functions include providing clear direction and feedback to project teams, including the use of appropriate assays and interpretation of data, implementing new assays, and troubleshooting existing assays.

Qualifications :

• A Ph.D. and at least 2-4 years of expertise in using biochemical and cell based assays for drug discovery, have experience using label free detection technologies, and have demonstrated the ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously
• Authorization to work in the US for any employer is required.
